Safety guide

Staying safe online

Protect your identity, recognize pressure tactics, and keep early conversations within boundaries you control.

Keep control of your identity

Use a separate contact channel for directory conversations. Avoid sharing your home address, workplace, legal documents, or financial details with someone you have not independently verified.

Notice pressure

Pause when someone demands secrecy, immediate payment, identity documents, or a move to an unfamiliar platform. Urgency is not proof of trust.

Check before meeting

Confirm expectations, location, timing, boundaries, accessibility needs, and cancellation terms in writing. Tell a trusted person where you will be when that is safe for you.

Act on concerns

Stop communicating when a situation feels unsafe. Use the report control on a profile for directory concerns. Contact emergency services when anyone is in immediate danger.
